I had to talk myself into buying a Bumbo seat for Eva, now 2 months old. Surely we did not need one more place for her to sit! We have two swings, a bouncy chair, a rocking chair-bouncer, a walker, an exersaucer, a couple of high chairs, one of those piano musical toy things they can sit in, and heaven knows how many other places to put her. (Grandma buys too much!) Problem is, she won’t stay happy down in the bouncy type things or the swings for longer than 5 minutes. She can’t sit well enough to be in the walker/highchair/exersaucer stuff yet. She has good upper body strength, but she is still really jerky in her movements and the highchair or walker could lead to a concussion when she slams her head to the side trying to regain her balance! So, I debated the Bumbo. I tried to find one used, but they sell off the local classifieds online within hours and who has time to stalk the classifieds?

I went to the store looking for them and found one in an open box. I put the Bumbo in the bottom of the cart, pulled Eva out of her sling and plopped her into the Bumbo. She grinned immediately. “This I can do!” she seemed to say. So, I took it home. She adores the Bumbo, as you can see. She still won’t stay down for longer than 10 minutes, but she can actually sit up on her own so she is more content than if I put her in a reclining position. Since it is soft, she can’t hurt herself even if she manages to somehow make head contact.

I got her the aqua Bumbo seat since the greenish one was kinda icky looking and I didn’t want the lilac one. No sense in buying a girly color when she’ll only use it for a short time. As you can see, her Little for Now tie dyed shirt matches it nicely! I wish they had the yellow one though, that one looks so cute in pics. I also discovered that she will hold soft, cloth dolls like this organic doll. She hates hard toys and refuses to hold them.
