Baby Wrap Carriers Rock
Baby wrap carriers are perfect for newborns. While most baby wrap carriers will go up to 35-45 pounds, they are wonderful for the newborn stage. Once you have the baby wrap tied on, you can slide baby in and out as needed. You can even breastfeed in a baby wrap style carrier. I used our Moby Wrap to take Eva hiking when she was just two weeks old. We went to Silver Lake, a small lake located near the ski resorts just East of Salt Lake City. The weather was a bit cool, but Eva and I were both warm in our Moby Wrap. When it got windy, I just pulled the wrap over her face until the wind died down.
It was kind of funny watching people’s faces as they came towards us on the trail. From a distance I must have just looked a little lumpy. As people came close they could see Eva’s tiny face poking out from her Moby Wrap. Everyone commented on how cute she was and how handy the baby wrap was – even a very crunchy-looking young man who looked visibly surprised when he saw the tiny little girl on the hiking trail.
I loved hiking with the Moby Wrap. My hands were free and I was even able to breastfeed her discretely while we walked. Baby wrap carriers come in a variety of styles. The Bundleboo baby wrap has leg holes so you can easily secure baby in a sitting position. It is not a stretchy wrap, so it provides good support even for larger babies. The Wrap N’ Wear is made from a thinner gauzy cotton so it is more breathable in hot climates or summer time. The Moby D is a Moby Wrap with a sewn in panel for either extra support or extra warmth. The Moby D comes with gorgeous silk panels for added style, a handwoven panel for a more casual style, and fleece for winter warmth. Moby Wrap even comes in an organic cotton. The kids Moby Wrap makes a nice present for holidays or as a sibling gift. For a unique baby gift, try pairing a Moby Wrap for mom and dad with a Moby for the big sister or brother.
